Surgery in dentistry
Surgical dentistry is one of the most sought-after services today, especially in the rehabilitation of patients with a complete absence of teeth
It is also impossible to imagine complex cases of creating a perfect smile without correction of the gingival margin and interdental papillae.
In advanced stages of periodontitis, only surgery can stabilise the process.

New principles that I have formed based on my years of experience in practical maxillofacial surgery:
Initial consultation
At the first consultation, I listen to the patient's wishes and carry out an oral examination and determine the methods of examination
Re-consultation
To develop a treatment plan, I review the CT scan to identify possible foci of inflammation or bone destruction, periodontal status and bone volume
I scan the jaws and upload the data into the programme.

Treatment plan
Based on the initial findings of the CT scan and scans, taking into account the patient's wishes, I draw up a treatment plan
Agreeing a treatment plan
After studying the treatment plan, we plan the appointments
For example, before implantation, we must have a clear understanding of the type of prosthetics to be used and predict the results.

What is dental implantation
What is dental implantation
Implantation is the implantation of a titanium post into the bone of the jaw, which fulfils the function of the tooth root.
Subsequently, prosthetics are carried out either with single crowns or all-ceramic prostheses, which are fixed to the implants with screws
I work with several systems, the choice depends on the wishes of the patient, the conditions of implant placement and financial possibilities.

Adentia is a serious problem, accounting for 15% of all dental pathology. 40% of people over 60 years of age have missing teeth. This is most often the case in the chewing group.
Implant prosthetics is the most complete restoration of the masticatory function of the entire maxillofacial system, speech function and the possibility of achieving high aesthetics.
Full and partial removable prostheses can be used in the temporary prosthetic phase.
In the case of single or short-term defects, an implant is placed in place of the missing tooth and a crown is subsequently fabricated on the abutment.
In the case of complete adentia, the ALL ON 4 or ‘all on four’ protocol is ideal. 2 implants are placed in the anterior region and 2 in the premolars.
The concept of this method is that the patient comes to the clinic without teeth and leaves with teeth. For approximately 3 to 6 months, the patient uses a removable denture, which replenishes the aesthetic and chewing function. Then comes the stage of permanent prosthetics.
I favour zirconium arches, as they are highly aesthetic and durable.

Tooth extraction
Tooth extraction
In cases where the tooth cannot be saved, it will be extracted.
Indications for extraction:
-Multiple caries with damage to the root tissues
-Periapical infection in the case of difficult or impossible passage of the root canal for its sanitation
-Diseases of periodontal tissues, when there is a significant loss of dental ligament, high tooth mobility
-High degree of jaw atrophy and, as a consequence, exposure of tooth roots.
-Orthodontic treatment for severe crowding of teeth
-Historical and retentive wisdom teeth
-Teeth on the fracture line of the jaw

Bone grafting, what it's for
Bone grafting, what it's for
Alveolar bone volume deficiency is quite common. Not every person after tooth extraction comes to the dentist with the desire to place an implant. Years pass and atrophy builds up.
Bone grafting surgeries are performed only when a full implant is not possible, and consist of increasing the height or width of the bone.
I most often perform bone grafting operations using my own bone blocks, as this gives the most predictable results

Periodontal surgery, what is flap surgery
Periodontal surgery, what is flap surgery
Periodontal disease is a complex and widespread pathology that has a rather negative impact on the whole organism.
Periodontitis is an inflammation in which there is a progressive destruction of periodontal tissues and alveolar outgrowth.
Clinically, it is manifested by the appearance of pathological tooth-gum pockets of varying depth, periodontopathogenic microorganisms contribute to the spread of the process to neighbouring areas.
Flap surgery - the essence of the method is to peel off the mucosal periosteal flap to the depth of the pathological pocket, remove all altered tissues, clean the roots of the teeth and suture.
